The simplest type of flower essences are those where flowers are placed in a glass bowl of water and set in a sunny location for 2-5 hours. The flowers are cut directly from the plant and allowed to fall into the bowl without being touched. Alcohol or glycerin is used to preserve the flower essence water after it has been strained. There are other methods that utilize crystals, boiling or even distilling. We have our own method which is closer to the simple method of making flower essences.
Flower essences are energetic remedies, similar to homeopathy. Each plant and it's flowers has a life force energy. Water has been proven to be a great vessel for storing energy. The sun or another energy source assists in transferring the flower energy to the water. Now that the energy from the flower is in the water, when a person consumes the flower essence infused water they get the benefits of that energy. The "material world" is more accurately an energetic world, and the energy of the material is visible in it's form, thus the form of plants and their flowers have their unique energy which can be beneficial to the specific human forms which in turn have their unique energy. The spiritual, mental and emotional realms (for lack of better words) are precursors to the "physical" realm. Just as we can often know what a person is thinking or feeling by looking at them (at their form), what is occurring in their physical body is effected by their spiritual, mental and emotional outlooks. By matching the beneficent energies of specific flowers to the problematic energies in a specific person there can be a lessening or removal of the problematic energies which in turn makes the person feel better.
Homeopathy is a method of treatment that uses homeopathic remedies (explained next) chosen based on the symptoms of a client. Homeopathic remedies can be made from any substance or energy. They are made by mixing a small portion of the substance (creating a dilution) with sugar of milk and mixing it in a mortar with a pestle; creating a "potentized" version of the substance. Each subsequent potency becomes less "physical" and more energetic, with nothing being left of the physical substance after a certain amount of these potentization steps. When a homeopathic remedy is chosen, the potency of the remedy must also be chosen.
